Galactica is an AI trained on humanity's scientific knowledge, designed as a new interface to access and manipulate information about the universe. It was created by Meta AI and Papers with Code as a research project. The demo was intended for the research community to provide feedback on large language models, but was removed from public availability due to its potential to generate inaccurate information.
